Snow Days: Cooking the Day Away

A day in bed? Catching up on unfinished projects or tasks? Or a day in the kitchen?

The thought of passing on an ideal, spontaneous, resourceful, put your foot in it cooking day, was much too tempting to pass on. It’s the ideal time for slow cooked food. So, I spent most of my waking hours doing it. Creating… a few new soups, a new twist on a casserole dish and a fresh sauce. All without leaving the comforts of a warm home. A mission accomplished all before lunch.

A work in progress:

Ready for the Oven…

As home cooks, it’s a dance we learn to do with ease. Distractions melt into the backdrop and rhythm of the day. Kids home from school can even become more motivation to get in the zone, expand the fire of creativity and satisfy pallets at the same time.
